Establishment of an Information Network on the World Wide Web

As part of the project "Bridges of History and Tradition", the Web Portal www.bridge-trad.eu was designed and developed with a view to:

 

  • highlight the Sights and Attractions of Historical - Cultural Interest in the Intervention Areas of the Act, which is part of the Project,,
  • inform on details about Nature and the Environment Intervention Areas,
  • inform on important cultural events, mores and customs, etc.,
  • exchange expertise in promotion-visibility issues of thematic tourism, and
  • promote the Act, which is part of the proclaimed project to the relevant stakeholders, the local government agencies and the media.

The Web Portal will serve as a main channel of access through the Internet concerning the alternative forms of tourism in Areas of Intervention, with the main operating characteristic being the provision of multilevel information to its visitors.
The structure of the Web Portal includes topics such as papers and articles on the subject of the Act, information related to the Promotion and Publication of the Operations of the Act, Information relating to the Funding Program, with Partners and with Bodies of the Public, civil organizations etc.
Also included is the connection via hyperlinks to e-mail addresses of other relevant Organizations and Bodies, Publications of Press Releases and other Publications, as well as information material aimed at highlighting and promoting the traditional architecture and specifically of the traditional stone bridges and their environment at local, regional and European level.
The Web Portal also incorporates the following Applications:
• Geographic Information System (GIS)
• Electronic Library System (eLibrary)
• Electronic Museum (eMuseum)
